Liquifire Sport Windshield UPDATE
Hi Guys,
I wanted to let you know first that the tooling has been ordered for the low Liquifire "Sport" windshields for the 80-84 Liquifire / Sportfire and Trailfire. The first edition will have the infamous center tab. If there is a demand, I will look at doing a short run of them without the center tab for the 79 era Trailfire.
Delivery was quoted in 8 weeks, but it could go longer. I will keep you posted of course.
Retail prices should be $90 each, plus shipping.
Thank you,
-Joe Rainville
Reproduction Windshields Available:
1974 295/s
1975 340/s
1976 Liquidator
1980-84 Liquifire "Sport" coming soon

Re: Liquifire Sport Windshield UPDATE
Brief update: the vendor informed me the tooling should be completed in 2 more weeks, so I should have the first sample before the end of July.

Re: Liquifire Sport Windshield UPDATE
Hi Guys,
According to the supplier, the first sample windshield is supposed to ship next week. They were apologetic for the delay, as they have spent some time re-working the tool to get the shape right. I told them that the shape was critical to that version, and I would rather have them correct than early.
I will post pic's of the sample unit installed on a Liquifire once it arrives.
Thank you,
-Joe

Re: Liquifire Sport Windshield UPDATE
The first fit up sample has arrived for the Liquifire "Sport" low windshield. These are the 16" tall versions that were the lowest factory option that came standard on the 80-84 Liquifire and and Sportfire, but also fit the Trailfire.
Out of the box, the shape looks good. I will do a test fit tonight, and assuming all goes well, place my first order this week.
Guys have been contacting me for reserve orders, feel free to do so to get in on the first delivery.
Thanks again to everyone for all your support and encouragement to get these done!

Re: Liquifire Sport Windshield UPDATE
The first test fit went very well. The windshield dropped into an 81 Liquifire hood like it belonged there. The order has been cut, price stays at $90.00. Shipping "should" range from $25.00 to $35.00 for 1-3 psc to the lower 48, nearly double that for Canada.
Get hold of me to reserve yours, and thanks to the guys that already have!

Sept 19th Update: Vendor tells me to expect product in 3 weeks. Even padding it a few week should mean that I am shipping windshields by mid-October. Thanks to all the customers that have pre-paid or reserved windshields. I will get them shipped out as soon as they arrive in DFW.

Re: Liquifire Sport Windshield UPDATE
Hi Guys,
The first order of 50 Liquifire Sport Windshields arrived. That's the good news!
Bad news is that they are about sold out, I only have a few left from this order. Thanks to everyone for all the advanced sales, couldn't have done this without all your support and encouragement.
Good news: I will be placing another order ASAP!
Additional info: we are also looking into smoked windshields, but the current material available is 0.060" while I have been using 0.080" polycarbonate. I am going to get a few sample pieces made for testing. I will keep everyone posted, but as of now clear is the only available option.
Thanks,
-Joe Rainville

Re: Liquifire Sport Windshield UPDATE
With the first order of 50 sold out, the next order of Liquifire Sport windshields is placed. In the mean time, I have received a few requests for the next windshield project. So far the most popular request is for Sprintfire / Snowfire versions, since no one is very happy with the SnoStuff soft Uvex versions currently available.
If I do the Sprintfire / Snowfire, they would be made out of the same 0.080" polycarbonate we have been using and probably wouldn't be available until next spring or summer.
Are there any other suggestions? Funny, but a few Kawi guys got hold of me suggesting 4/6 Invader - LTD windshields, but while I have no reservations on doing Kawi parts, I also have no idea if there is a market for them.
Thanks,
-Joe

Re: Liquifire Sport Windshield UPDATE
Hi Guys,
The next order of windshields shipped from the manufacturer yesterday, so they will be back in stock later this week. I will fill the back orders first of course, but then its back to filling new orders.
Due to customer demand, it look like the Sprintfire/Snowfire windshield tooling will be ordered after the HoF Ride with the Champs and I-500 are over. We are planning to do both the regular 83-84 style and the pre-production 82's on a limited basis. Unfortunately due to the high tooling cost and large size, these will be a little more expensive, probably in the $110 to $120 range, but OEM quality.
Thanks for your business,
-Joe Rainville
