Yamaha garage sale find

Post by hounds84lhs »

Not my brand but the price was right and I hadn't bought a sled in over two years. Single cylinder mid-mount with boogies. Any know much about this model? :sled:

CONGRATULATIONS :beers; Yamaha is good sleds and easy to work with.
1976 or 1977?

The older boogie models don't like deep snow at all, but on packed snow the work fine.
The 300 (292) is a good engine.
The only two weak points on the motor is:
- The Keihin membrane carb. But like all membrane carbs, when they work there are no problem.
- The breaker point. Just check the points before taking out on a long trip for the first time.

Here you have some data for your Yamaha GS300
