I went on a treasure hunt to earlier owners and possessors of this led, and i got home with the gas tank and the seat.

Gas tank is in good shape, but with a worn fuel line connection and a bad gas cap.

The seat has some cracks in the cover, but is in very good shape anyway...

While waiting for some new parts, I have done different small things on the little Sprintfire...

I did a really good cleaning of the gas tank, and then some magic to get the shiny black back again

The gas cap did not get any cleaning, I have ordered a new one.

that tank turned out great. Always wanted to try that method with the heat gun, but always to scared to wreck a decent tank.

I'm sure that you have some old car near you with bumpers or doormirrors that has oxided and getting white, try the hot air blower there. It's not hard, you see directly when it's enough

But if you try it on this type of gas tank, don't try to heat the black back on the compartement lid. It's not that type of plastic, it vill be burned and shrink.

I did som skrubbing and some glycerin treatment on the skid rubber dampers

I have started on the motor. I'm gonna take it apart to mount new crank seals, measure the cylinder port size and durations.

So the intake, Y-pipe, starter and cylinder head comes off...

Duration check

Pistons opens the transfer and exhaust port almost all the way.

But on the intake side the port opens full

After checking the durations, I took the crank out. The seals looks very good, but will be changed. The little O-ring seal on the bearing in the middle was gone, so I have to order a new one.

The empty motor is ready for sand blasting.

Today I did some job on the skid.
Cleaning the rails. Changing bearings in the wheels. Sandblasting and painting the steel details on the skid. I also mounted grease fittings.
