Yes. Belt dimensions are 1-1/4 x 47-1/8 for the 1107. M68715 OEM JD belts are supposed to be 1-1/4 x 47. 1078 belts are over 1/4" too short; they might function but I would think adding one secondary washer for normal length belt wear would be insufficient to make that new belt operate properly.

Thanks Pat. I didn't know the length of the factory belt, so the 1107 now make sense. Thanks!

I remove the secondary the same way as Charlie mentioned.....remove helix and spring and it will slide off. I also use the 1107 belts.

try the 1107 before you do any thing else charlie

the clutches wont shift right if the belt is to short even though them jd belts are new do shrink over time because they are old more for show sleds

I use the 3022 for all my 80 liquifires. The 3012 would be for sportfires and trailfires. My liquifires perform very well. You can get the secondary clutch off by compressing it and putting a 2×4 wedged in between the sheaves, then it has enough room to slide off and come out

I got a chance to test the sled this weekend, and no change, still have the same problem. I replaced the fuel pump, checked the fuel pick up, it was clean, replaced the belt, replaced the gas cap, by passed the rev limiter, and checked the clutch alignment which was good, all the fuel lines are new. I have done numerous plug checks and they always look good. Sled still only pulls 6500-7000 rpm, but will pull more RPM for short bursts. What's next? Guess I'll pull the carbs apart again. maybe its time to pull the primary clutch off and go through that. Is there a tank breather that could be clogged or pinched off?

What belt are you using? Are your carb slides completely clearing your carb throats? Are your chokes sealing on the little raised lip inside the carbs or are those lips wore out?

I'm using the 1107 belt. The slides are clearing the carb throats. Not sure about the chokes sealing, will check that out. Thanks for reply.

Well I started working on the LF again. Went through the carbs again, still didn't find anything. Checked the exhaust to make sure it wasn't plugged up, appears to be ok. I pulled the secondary clutch a part. the bushings were a little sloppy so I replaced those in the sheeve and the cam. I did notice one thing that i have a question on. when I remove the bolt that holds the secondary on I can see the cam release. It looks like tightening up the bolt preloads the spring. Is this correct? Thanks
