NEW Dator Rods, Crank Pins, Lower Rod Bearings Ect......

Post by ICCSF 108 »

I'm going to be talking to some company's ( around July 20th ) about making Dator Rods, Crank Pins, & Lower Rod Bearings. I'm quit sure because of a limited run maybe 20?? They won't be cheep I'm sure, BUT what else are we going to do to get these cranks fixed??

How many of you would be interested in some??

Kenny

By the way IF this works 340/S Rods, Pins & Lower Rod Bearings will be next...

Are the Dator big end rod bearings unique to the Dator?

The 340/S is the same size as production, though as we know the rods are heavier.

Right now one supplier is cking to see if they have something made that will work as a Core, IF they do that will help greatly.. IF NOT then this WILL get expensive unless we can move say maybe 100 of them??
Brian the big end bearing isn't available anywhere that Jerome has found.. also the lower pin is part of the weight/throw so were cking about re-popping the lower pins so the OEM ones can be cut from the weight & a push in one would replace it...

Right, that has been my thought on how to do it. But you have to size your pin OD to an available bearing, otherwise you'd have to buy 6000 bearings or something like that. Lots of bearing manufacturers in the far east, but how do you know if they are any good or not?

Hey Kenny, I need one for sure, maybe a second for a spare. Still need two of those repoped air boxes if they will be made. Will take the repoped air tubes, and boots also if the airbox goes ahead, thanks.
Robert.

Robert ( rnp ) the Dator air boxes WILL be a go at some point, the place making them has decided to go with an aluminum mold to guarantee that it won't break ( not charging us any extra ) I waiting for the mold to be made & for 3 proto's.. I'm also waiting for 3 proto's of the Dator air tubes ones we have them & they are approved they will also be going into production..
So I'm putting you name down..
