Andy... wait a minute.. Are you saying there is a Scorpion group who is reproducing 2.52 pitch black PPD drivers? Do you have the contact for who is making them?

I always knew that Scorpion sleds (such as Stingers or Super Stingers) used the same crappy white Gates drive wheels in 2.52 pitch, so those guys are looking for replacements as well. This is very good knowledge for anyone wanting to upgrade their drive shafts.

Jason,

Andy is correct. The Scorpion guys did a run of black 2.52" pitch drive sprockets for the 1" shafts. I have posted about it on Facebook and such. I think Jack Palokangas carries them. I am not sure if they are 8 tooth, but I think so.

Unfortunately I found out about them right after I finished my 400 last year, or I would have used a set on it instead of moving up to the 1 1/8" shaft, just to keep the 72 original.

Joe,
I pressed on driver on with no issue. Do you think I should get a third one for the center position on my Cyclone? Now is the time to add it easily. I know you are running low, but do you have one available?

Sledstorm, it's your call, the 78 cyclone/ liquifire had eliminated the center wheel.

Moving forward without the center idler. Shaft drilled, drivers pressed on and bolted. Shaft primed and painted.

Thanks Jason. I'm hoping to get her back together while there is still snow on the ground here. Getting close! :sled:

Tom, I don't think the center driver is necessary.

When Pat pointed out the 78 dropped it, I agreed.

Sorry Im responding so late. Yes the Scorpion guys are re making the PPD black drivers. I paid $100 for 2 sprockets at Waconia and the Scorpion guy said the price is going up to $110 for 2 sprockets. I will look for his card and give you the contact info. I did a Google search using "Scorpion drive sprockets" and also found a Scorpion site that has them.
