Saturday's vintage challenge was a fairly big success. My JDX8 only made it half way to Bent's Camp, so on the trailer it went. But, I believe other than a few minor repairs or trail issues, I think that was the only sled issue seen that day. Joe has the entire count, but I believe it was over 20 sleds. Joe lent me his 80' Liquifire, which was sort of a gamble as it ran out of oil on the I-500... however, with fresh oil and gas, it made it all the way up to Fishtails, and returned without any major issues. Returning after dark was an experience, as sometime either before or after the I-500 the Liqufire's headlight and taillight did not function. I stayed close to the guy ahead of me so I could see the trail!

What could be more fitting than getting 8" - 10" of fresh snow on the 8 hr ride home on Sunday? Northern Minnesota got socked, and saw me driving about 40 mph for 70 miles. But, I made it home by 5:00 p.m. which isn't bad.

I am bummed about having engine trouble, but with all the knowledge I've gained, and the help I'll receive from our group, I am confident I will find the source and fix what needs to be fixed. I will be returning one way or another!
