Re: flywheel puller? HELP
The tool you need is a harmonic balancer puller or steering wheel puller that can be found at any auto parts store for around $35.00.

Re: flywheel puller? HELP
yes they work just fine. I got mine at harbor freight. I got the full kit with many different pulling bolts and different centers. in order to stop the flywheel from turning I have been using a 12 inch long old pull cord rope, I remove the mag side spark plug, and then feed the rope down into the cylinder about 8 to 10 inch, then rotate the engine by hand until the cord stops it from tuning over, I never use power tools with this set up. always oil the push bolt, never use it dry. been doing it this way for 12 plus years count less times.
i use a 12 inch long piece so i can measure it after it is removed to insure i removed it all. try to make sure it dose not go into the exhaust or intake ports this can make it feel like it will stop it from turning over but can get cut off and you dont want that.

if i remove the magneto cover will i have to re time the engine or does it not matter how the cover goes back on? oil the push bolt on the puller its self?

Re: flywheel puller? HELP
You won't need to do any timing unless you remove the stator plate, but even then you can mark it's position before you loosen the screws.
