Kec 440/21

Post by belcher.usarmy2007 »

Hi I’m new to this site and hoping I can find some answers. I just got a 350 odyssey and they put a kec440/21 engine in it. The problem I’m having is they bypassed the regulator to the ignition coils and burned a coil. I was able to find the coils online but I cannot find the regulator. I’m not even sure what it looks like or where it is wired in. Hopefully you guys can help me out bc I really want to get this thing going and rip it up. Thanks

There is something you are misunderstanding or maybe there is a difference in terminology. What do you mean when you say regulator? There is no regulator needed and bypassing one would not damage the coil. On the sleds, there is a voltage regulator to make the wiring harness voltage 12v to run the lights, otherwise it's not necessary.

Yea idk. This is just what I was told when I got it. So if there is no regulator then what would they have been talking about and why would the coil be bad then
