Trailfire fuel tank leaks

Post by Jdfiddleman »

Hello,
I was wondering if anybody has had any issue with fuel tank leaks in their JD sleds.
Last season i noticed that my snowmobile was doing terrible on fuel usage, and after some looking it seemed that there was fuel leaking out from under the tank, down the front of the tank towards the engine. so i pulled the tank off expecting to find a rubbed through spot or a seam splitting, and to my eyesight none could be found.
I now have the tank full of water siting so hopefully after a day or so i can see where it might be leaking from. if that docent work I'm going to seal up the tank and pressurize it and use soapy water to look for leaks. if i still can't find it, i guess ill put it back in and see if it will still leak... anybody have problems with their tank leaking?

Bad rubber bushing where the fuel line enters the tank?

Yeah I've had a bad one already. Just toss it . No good fix with plastic and gas. I have many good used ones for sale.
Many new and used parts available, I ship anywhere. Thanks everyone.
