Lady Luck smiles again!! 84' Liquifire

Post by idMXLT »

I have way too many sleds (all stored inside), but a month or so back a gentleman at the WSSA Powersports EXPO mentioned that he had an 84 Liquifire he wanted to sell along with some other random JD parts. We finally got our schedules lined up and I headed south towards Oregon to see what he had. :pray:

Say hello to MOLQFRX 285080!!!! :beers;

It also came with 6 boxes of NOS JD parts (mostly decals, clutching, and gearing stuff) and a NOS 80 LF hood!!!

It will take me a few months to get to this sled, when I do it'll get cleaned up, worn parts replaced (she has over 5000 miles 8) ) and put back on the snow.

Sure looks clean. Hood is missing the Liquifire decals on the sides above the stripe that's not in the correct place. Repaint? What's the bracing feature next to the VIN? Broken tunnel? Hang that NOS hood on a wall somewhere!

Hood was messed up by a friend when the previous owner loaned the sled out years ago. The friend had the hood repainted and applied new decals, incorrectly as you pointed out. They also polished through the paint on a couple edges. Tunnel is not broken, but out here many are due to people yarding on the grab bar :bonk: . The PO made some brackets to reinforce the area. They look a little crude but are solid so I'll leave them on.
