Dash repair

Post by nick80lf »

Today I discovered a pretty handy way to repair cracked dashes. I had been considering purchasing a plastic welder and while researching them found a video explaining how to weld plastic with a low wattage soldering iron.

I was quite pleased with the outcome. Below are a few photos.ImageImageImageImage

Nice.
Will the welding procedure make that area any more flexible or make it worse?

This dash had several cracks and the front section was busted out. This is a low budget build for a friend and I thought I'd give this a try. It worked better than I thought. I don't think its anymore flexible. It seems like a pretty good way to fix a broken dash.
