80 Liquifire Suspension
80 Liquifire Suspension
The shock mount on my 80 Liquifire looks like its been modified. Is this modification a factory or dealer installed? Or is this someones repair? Would this cause a suspension geometry issue? Does anybody sell an original shock? Thanks
Re: 80 Liquifire Suspension
I found a picture that sledhead16 posted a few years ago. Whats the difference and reason for the two different shock configurations?
Re: 80 Liquifire Suspension
As long as I'm working on the rear suspension, the spacer behind the idler wheel is loose and just rattling around. Is this supposed to by trapped by the idler wheel? Thanks

Re: 80 Liquifire Suspension
The aluminum bar is the correct mounting location for a stock LF suspension. The forward mount as seen in the suspension on the right is for Sportfires, Trailfires, or a Liquifire with the deep snow kit rear swing arm. Those have a longer rear arm that moves the shock forward in the suspension.

Thanks for the reply. I ordered a new shock, The shock I removed and the shock they list as the replacement are the same number AM55144.
Still curious as why those sleeves are loose behind the idler wheel? Do you know if there some parts missing?

Just a thought...do you have a washer on each side of the wheel? Go to JDparts.com for illustrated parts list. Looking at that might help you in relation to your build.
