Liquifire clutch spring

Post by kubis21 »

Just wondering if anyone has found a replacement for the secondary spring on a 76 Liquifire 440, or has a NOS one laying around?

Many years ago there was a post that mentioned Polaris # 7041269 would work in the Deere secondary. I've never tried it myself, so I can confirm this is true.

Can anyone confirm Nick's post about using the Polaris spring? I get a lot of calls for this spring.

I bet there is a Polaris spring that would work. But 7041269 appears to be a rear suspension spring. not a secondary spring.

I heard there is a Polaris spring that works. But have yet to find a part number, or anyone who can confirm that. The 7041269 is a rear suspension spring.

Just thinking out loud here. Wonder if Mr. Grafft would be able to help?

I found a part# on an old post, 7041296. If nobody chimes in, I might order one and give it a try.

Funny how switching the 9 and the 6 around takes it from a suspension spring to a secondary clutch spring.

Happy to report that we are in the infancy of reproducing the M66378 "blue" springs.

My bad, I should have reported that we were unable to reproduce them at a reasonable cost.
