Recently purchased a 1983 Liquifire that had been in storage for 20+ years. 2700 miles and quite clean and original. I have the machine up and running after several hours of carb cleaning, new fuel pump, belt etc.. Ridden it a few times.
The machine has poor low end performance, I feel it may be a clutching/elevation issue., I purchased it out of Columbia Falls Mt which sits at an elevation of approx 4000 ft and I think was ridden as high as 8000ft. I use it only above 7500 ft. It struggles bringing RPM's up.
I cannot quite tell what weights and spring should be in machine above 8000 ft. Does anyone have those specs or advice on what to look for?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Do you have a service manual? I would check your carb jets and primary clutch setup against the stated specs in the service manual for your elevation.
Also, you didn't mention that you changed the crank seals or carb boots, they should be changed as well.

Crank seals...
Re: 1983 Liquifire low end power/clutching?
I have replaced the carb boots. Sounds like it will need crank seals no matter. Will that impact low end performance?
Thank you

It impacts everything in a two stroke engine. Air leaks cause a lean condition which leads to burned pistons and scored cylinders.
