Belt alginment on a 300

Post by modmod1 »

Hi there

Anyone got pics or instructions on how to align my drive belt on my 1977 JD300 I down loaded the manual and I have looked and looked and it does not seem to be in there.

Thanks

The tool used was JDM-42 clutch pulley alignment tool. One side has the offset for the JD clutches ( Comet ) and the other side has the Salsbury offset.
The manual doesn't give the measurement, I would have to measure mine.

OK, here's what I found: The Comet clutch has a 5/16" offset. The Salsbury clutches require a 1/4" offset
