seat restorations

Post by IH power »

I am going to try my hand at custom building spitfire seat from scratch. On original seat, there is an opening in foam at front. When looking in, I can see a piece of styrafoam between upper/lower layers of foam. Can anyone say if other seats were like this or is this something that has been added over the years? any help greatly appreciated.

Yes, the seats on the mid-mounts had a core of denser foam in the middle. This was done for a good reason from what I have been told.

thank you for the reply. I did mock up foam layers and sat on them, then added piece of 2 inch styrafoam. did help stiffen up.
