Found this post while searching for a solution to my challenge... On the last couple of rides, I’ve noticed my Tach on my 1978 440 Liquifire is doing the same as what you’ve described here... engine is running strong, but the Tach is only showing 1000-1200 revs. As I throttle up, the engine noise and speed increases, but no corresponding response on the Tach. Did you ever solve this problem? If so how?
