K295-2AX muffler
K295-2AX muffler
So this is a bit of an odd post but recently I've been working on a K295-2AX powered cart that was given to me for free. It is very sketchy, to say the least, however, the thing can be heard from a mile away. I would love if any of y'all had some advice on what's the best way to attach a muffler, and what muffler could be best at making it a bit quieter without causing any issues. I figured this would be the best place for advice as you all seem very experienced and I know little to nothing about snowmobile engines. All help is appreciated.

Re: K295-2AX muffler
Are there what appears to be short lengths of pipe screwed into the exhaust ports? Or are they flat with tapped holes. To the best of my knowledge there were two types of exhaust manifolds used. This pic is of the set up used on the free air version. The fanner manifold slid onto those stub pipes.

Re: K295-2AX muffler
It seems to have the other exhaust manifold you described, flat.

Oh boy. You might actually get better performance if you can figure out how to fit a stock muffler on there. Highly doubt there is any tuning on that one

You have space limitations there. The manifold that slides on the pipes looks pretty much like the bolt on one. This is something home made from where I am sitting.

Re: K295-2AX muffler
Would it be possible to find a stock manifold ? if I was to find one would it fit with the space limitations?

Re: K295-2AX muffler
Definitely zero tuning with the makeshift box muffler.
