Head lamp continues to burn out
Hello everyone. Getting most glitches cured on liquifire except the headlamp continually burns out. It doesn’t appear to be to bright but in very little time it burns out. Other bulbs are fine. Is this a regulator issue or a short. When it burns out it flickers a bit bright and. done. Any suggestions helpful. Thanks
Re: Head lamp continues to burn out
Sounds like the regulator to me. I have had them burn everything out and some just burn one out.

Thanks Snowmoer. I played with it till 11pm. Ended up replacing ground from ground terminals by chaincase and ran separate new ground wire to engine. Everything seems fine now. Must’ve burned out 4 headlights playing with that lol.

Sounds like a voltage regulator to me. If it continues, and I would be sick of it by now, I guess you could wire a voltage meter into the head light plug, and see what you are getting at high RPMs.

The voltage regulator has to be well grounded to the chassis to work properly.

Burnt again lol. Got new regulator coming and I’ll run another ground wire from stator to regulator

Re: Head lamp continues to burn out
I have had one V reg fail on me over the years. Headlight got REALLY bright, then it got really dark. I thought, well that was cool, lets do that again! So I flipped the switch to low beam and did it all over again.
I have heard some reports that the aftermarket V regs are not so good, as in bad right out of the box.

Thanks Brian. I picked up brand new regulator so try that. Last one was out of parts sled. I’ve ate up 200 bucks worth of halogen bulbs trying to figure out.

Ok guys. Got two new regulators and factory style bulbs. Installed both. Works like charm so far. Guess used regulator from ol sled didn’t cut mustard. Are any of you at eagle river? I have a buddy there he said he seen a few liquidators in vintage class doing well.
