I have a jd 500 with the original walbro WDA32 Carb, It would barely start and run. had to hold throttle a little open it would run 15 sec and die. Fuel coming out of the exhaust and carb.
What is everyones idea to replace the carb with a mikuni or rebuild the walbro?
I tore it down a little and it has rust in the intake on the bottom and green algea where the gaskets sit. Seems relatively clean otherwise. Wheres the best kits to rebuild it and may need needles, the one looked a little rounded.
I was thinking of switching to a vm 34. But do i need a different throttle handle to get wide open? I had thrown a mikuni on our 400 and it runs and seems the slide opens almost the whole way maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch before flush with the top at wide open. I need to figure out the jets on that one as its doggy once you hit the throttle and bogs at wide open.
Would a round or a flat slide work better?
