Swag for the trailer

Post by 400brian »

So while we have owned our Legend trailer since December of '21, in that time I had done little to personalize the interior.

Today I took advantage of the warm weather to add some color to the inside.

Going forward, Jon Carlson will be traveling with us.

OK, when I go to attach photos to this post, nothing more recent than last May show up to choose from. What's up with that?

Are you using a phone to post? With my Samsung it seems to stick photos in different folders on the phones memory. The photos all show up in my gallery but when I go to upload I sometimes need to find the specific folder the photo is in.

I only post here with the PC. As I have been doing for 20 years, I haven't changed anything. I can post pics to FB and my entire photo gallery comes up, but here all of a sudden, nothing newer than 6 months ago, except this one that was edited yesterday. That was a clue. If I modify a pic, it then shows up in the file for here. OK, so it appears that the pics taken with my phone are now in a format that is not recognized by something.

Like the Nutter's speed shop decal. How did you come across that one?

John Nutter gave me that sticker a couple of years at the Round Up.

Matt showed me how to quickly change a photo to a format the forum will recognize, so here is one more of the trailer.

Totally off topic, but the pic brings up an issue that I have been having. Do you have issues with your padlock freezing up in the winter due to road spray\freezing? I have tried a couple different locks but nothing seems to work and I have resigned myself to always bringing a torch, effective but a bit of a pain I'd like to eliminate if I could.

I certainly have had that issue as well. You can spray them with WD-40 before you leave on a trip, but under inclement conditions the padlock will probably be froze when you go to open the trailer. So I too carry a propane torch in the truck, understanding that if it gets really cold it many not work either.

What length trailer is yours? I’m going to be on the lookout for something to haul at least two of mine at some point but if I was to haul four in an enclosed what length would anyone consider minimum for four sleds? I’ve been considering an enclosed for other purposes as well (smaller lawn care tools/ seed and fert, moving of mine and another people’s “stuff”). Does anyone else use an enclosed snowmobile trailer with front/rear fold down doors for other things?

I like the big John’s in town on the back!

I bought the trailer new off a lot in December of 2021. It is a Legend Explorer, the box is 18 foot with a 5 foot V-nose, so 23' total.

I bought the Legend Explorer because it has a 7' wide interior WITH NO WHEELWELLS inside the box. That allows me to haul 4 vintage sleds side by side. Mid-mounts fit the best obviously. With the Cyclone beside a mid-mount I can still get between them, but it is tighter. If I had two of the larger frame sleds side by side, I probably couldn't get through. You would then be looking at putting the sleds in on an angle.
