1992 Cat throttle cable problem
I am trying to setup the throttle cable on the 1992 Arctic Cat cougar 440/lc. I am having a problem not knowing where to set the oil pump tension at. The arm the cable connect to has two slashes on it I am guessing to establish on and off. With the throttle rubber banded wide open, I cannot get the adjustment on the cable to make the oil pump go full wide open, or to line up with the notch on arm and the notch on the oil pump. Thus the same problems are happening when trying to adjust the slides on the carbs also. When the throttle is wide open on the handle, rubber banded open, I cannot get the slides to go full open without running out of cable adjustment threads too. I looked at the new cable versus the old and they match good. Guys got any ideas?

Sled was purchased by me on Dec 5, 2006. Nothing looks out of the ordinary. Thumb lever is stock I have to assume. The arm with the slashes on it is the actuating arm on the oil pump itself. The oil pump body has a tit coming off of it with a slash in the center of it, assuming this is an aligment mark, I guess. I cant seem to get these marks or slashes to line up at all. Very confused. Nor can I get the slides to open up more than 3/4 of the throttle body no matter how much I turn the threaded ends.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Wrong dang cable again. WTF?? I need a break once in while. Got an original from Cat on order. $74.99. Should be here in 3-5 days.
MFGS.........never again.
The inner core on the carb cables is about .600 too long, this caused me to run out of thread adjustment on the cables.
