Flooding cure??

Post by 427cobra »

Had the 80 LF out over the weekend and was running great. Stopped to get lunch and went to start sled and would not start!! Tried everything.....ether, new plugs, pulling engine with no plug then reinstalling plugs. No success!!

Had to go get the truck and haul it home. (good thing home wasnt too far)

So I let the sled sit for awhile and tried again later that night....started right up on the third pull. Next morning started on the first pull!! Went for a short ride and ran great. Shut it off....waited ahwhile....tried starting....fired right up.

So i am guessing that it some how got flooded the day before when I tried starting it after lunch. What do you guys suggest to do if you suspect the sled is flooded? Is there anything you guys discovered that works well to get a flooded machine started? (besides wait 6hrs?? ha)

Thanks,

Eric

Vintage hats and shades!! All I need is the suit and JD helmet.

Thanks for all the help getting these sleds ready for the snow. I can always count on members of this site to help with any problems or parts that I need to get the job done correctly the first time.

Thanks again
