Was wondering if any, the differences between a 1980 sportfire and 1980 trailfire hood. Thanks

I bought a 79 TF and a 80 sport and they had swapped hoods because one was cracked. No problems.

Maybe its do to the years but I know the color is not the same on my sleds. The sportfires seam to have a brighter more shiny silver. Even with age and fade the sports look greyish while the trails have a more goldish tink to them. Interchange wise they are the same.

In 1980 we purchased 1 TrailFire, 1- Sport Fire & 2 LiquiFires.

Both the SportFire & TrailFire had the same color hood. Only the decale was different

I think its the 79's that had the greenish-gold tint to them, then in 80 they went silver and to the alum tunnels?

the silver hoods for 80 + are same aside from decals yes the sport and trail decals changed from year to year also some models both trailfire and psort fire had black or partially black hoods dpending on year and model. biggest noticable difference aside from color and decals is venting behind windshield as some had two vents some had one and i have even seen one without vents.

vary rare and impossible to find would be the demo hoods which had been made of plexiglass and did not have paint so people could see engine compartment.. no lights no windshied or vents in these. i beleve but could be wrong that it was only the 1980 models that did this in dealers.
