It was taken three years ago. It was the first season he ran that car, so it was fresh. I did the painting, Case Power Red and White. By chosing those colors, he can touch up the paint with spray cans bought at the dealership.
Believe me, there has been plenty of paint and sheet metal rubbed off since the photo was taken.

Have you ever taken the car to LaCrosse (West Salem, WI)? My brother has put in a few laps there. I was strickly a dirt track guy, but that was many years ago...
I'm thinking they went to Lacrosse maybe 8-10 years ago, for the big weekend deal in October. They got rained out, and they never went back. I can't remember if he made any laps around the track or not. That was back when he was running Hobby Stock, the car pictured, runs in the Street Stock division.

I use to race on the dirt for a few years in Iowa mainly. I was running IMCA Stock Car. My last season was 2000 which was a horrible year for me. I had seven motors ready for the season. and blew all but one before the mid season championship..(bummer)
worst luck i ever had and i was doing good to at 4th in points. We raced three nights a week Friday night, Sat and sunday. Those were the fun days. I remember signing autographs for the kids after the race the fans would come into the pits bullshit and drink beer and fill the car up with the empty beer cans. Then we would go to the bar and get drunker. That hobby almost broke me with blown motors ect. so got out of it but dont regret it one bit. I do miss it.
hey when it comes to stock cars i know what you mean about the cost! i loved the fun of racing every weekend but man does it take the green! work all week to race all weekend. this is a photo of our last car we retired in 2002. finished the 2001 season 3rd in points. the car is a wissota b-mod.

It appears that the Tomah-Sparta Speedway became Excaliber Speedway a few years back. However, a Google search only shows items dating from around 2005.
My Father gets a state racing newsmagazine, and it does not list anything up there at all, so my guess is that it is not operating at this time.

Thanks Brian, that's too bad. If my memory serves me correctly (it was like 40 years ago), the track was in a little valley with seating on the hillside. Saturday night racing was/is some of the best. Don
