Carb compatibility.. Harness??

Hey guys, will a 80' Sportfire carb 440 run a 81' Trailfire 440 LX sled? AND My trail fire has the starter on it but no button or harness. This may sound dumb but I had intended on home making a harness and wiring it to a batterie. Will someone Please tell me the right way to get'er done? What batterie is best? What gauge of wire is best for the application at hand, and what is a rectifier? Thanks, I know you guys will pull through!! Keep up the good work! I have read some helpful hints and tips from other topics. I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone involved in this page, Matt and joe for building it, and you guy's that help keep it running. This is awesome. I remember this page from when I was in high school and that was along time ago. Good help is hard to find. Thanks again! I am pleased regardless.
