LF carb woes

Post by guitardude081 »

Does anyone have a trick to getting carb slides on the cables without the whole damn thing flying across the shop? I've tried for 2 hours now, and I've never had THIS much trouble.

Screw the carb cap onto the cable, install the spring into the cap, compress the spring with 2 finger of the hand your holding the cap in, & with the other hand install the throttle valve/slide onto the cable so it slides into the retaining slot, then install the jet needle into the slide
( Note if you carb has the little nylon washer that goes under the E-ring on the jet needle then install that before the jet needle ) then install the little plate that keeps the jet needle from coming out of the slide, then release the spring into the slide, Remember practice makes perfect.

Damn, that's the only thing I didn't try. I will try that after the decals, tank and seat go on tonite. I will have a running sled by next week when the 108-c gets here.
