Most of the time you really don't need a carb kit for the mikuni slide carbs,
all you need is to disassemble them & clean them very very good, you might need a pilot jet if yours is plugged it's not worth trying to clean the dirty ones, same with the main jet if there plugged but they do clean out easier.
just becarefull when your taking the float bowl off the carb & most of the time the gasket is OK.

Jeremiah_102508,
Check out your local sled shop or motorcycle shop for the carb parts. Take the carb with you to match up the screws. They should be able to identify the size of the carb for the proper needle/seat. There are 2 types of needle/seats you can get. One is the standard steel tip or the viton tip. The size is problably 10mm with a flow of 1.5 . The type # is VM28/163 series. The needle/seat is also available from any of the snowmobile vendors but you should be able to get it from your local shop. The windshield is available from DennisKirk, # 24-244(standard) or 24-242(high)

The closest dealer I have is about two hours away and they have no access to deere parts. This has not been a success yet. So tell me will a sportfire carb work? The carb is off a sled of the same year as the trailfire. They hook up the same. Thanks guys.

the sport carb should work aslong as your trailfire is a 440
