i have a kec 340 ccw 1973 engine.. and when it starts little gas droplets come out of the exhaust. and it get worse once the engine is starter.. is this a sign of a flooded engine? but the engine starts so does that mean its not flooded?

I'd guess it to be gas, Nick.......there shouldn't be any antifreeze in a fan cooled engine....lol

Yea Its more than Likely Gas, I wanted to cover as many bases. so he/she could double check.. I reread the post. Yea. I guess 1973 was probably Fan cooled.

In my experience,. if you've got an engine throwing black goo out of the exhaust, you probably a cylinder not firing, or not firing properly. Usually you can see which one the goo is coming from.

also i have another engine and its a kec 340/5 engine.. but it doesn't have the clutch. and the shaft is 25mm.. does anybody have a clutch that will work for this engine that i can buy off them? if not then could somebody find me a clutch that will work? i needs to be a belt clutch like the original.. because i dont know what clutches will work and will not work for this.. so if somebody has one that will work i will gladly buy it off you. or if somebody could find me a clutch that would work that would be great! the engine is a kec 340/5 and a 25mm shaft.. i now have 2 of these kec engines. i think im just going to give up on the 1973 engine and work on the kec 340/5 engine.. so does anybody have a clutch? Thanks for your guys time..

Mettalica,
The engine you have with the 25 mm clutch is a '72 KEC 340/3.

Metallica,

The Walbro carbs have the number on the top flange where they bolt to the intake. They will have a Walbro part number on the left side of the flange like WDA-32, WRA-31 you get the idea. Looking at the carb from the recoil side it will have stamped in it Walbro Cass City, MI. Not sure because I've never had a Bendix before, but photos I've seen show a metal tab on top of the carb under the adjustment screw that show which direction to adjust the screw for richer or leaner.
