Anyone modified their Fire series suspensions?

Post by RSplash40 »

I'm looking to add a little more lift for a bigger guy on my 83, I've already got the springs loaded as high as they will go and the spring helper kit but still need help to keep the machine from squatting so much and bottoming out.

I know this will effect ride for others but so far, I'm the only one who's ever driven this sled. I've talked to a couple of people, have a couple of ideas to try but was wondering if anyone has done this already. I know I've heard of someone replacing it with a polaris setup but that was on the old boards.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Oh no you may get some intresting replies to this. In short dont do anything that will jack the sled up or it will change the steering angles [caster] and cause problems. Now if you can just stiffen it up that will be good.

the liquifire springs were a little heavier duty and will help keep it from bottoming out..

something i do is to make a block of aluminum simular to what polaris uses on theres but alot higher to fit in the front where the spring rubs against the bolt it not that much but it seems to do the job.
