Hey Guys! Been doing a ton of riding on the JD's that I got at haydays this past fall, Pratically every night after work! everythings been great, But I have noticed these last few rides on the 75' JD300 that when I give it the gas, ( at any speed ) you can easy notice that the engine will be reving higher than the adiquit speed that the machine is producing. I am not talking that the track is spinning out on ice or anything eather. With what knowdlege I have about sleds I came to the conclusion that since it hadnt done this the first few trips this winter but now more and more the more I ride the machine, that the width of the belt is wearing slimmer and that the Primary clutch has to tighten more on it to produce the speed obiously. Simple fix? New belt? I hope so. I have on from DK on the way... what do you guys think? OR from always reading you tech guys posts do you think that this is some kind of clutch spring issue? I sure hope not.

Thanks guys

Happy riding

You will be pleased with the results of a new belt. I have an NOS JD belt if you're interested in stock.

From the sounds of things I think the new belt will do you right. I often find on a sled that even still moves ok a huge difference with a new belt.

make sure ya clean all the belt dust off the backside of the driven clutch aswell as the new belt I have found that most of the time belt dust is the culprit of belt wear an clutch wear so make sure that the driven is clean just my 2 cents worth hope it helps.
