I too called him as soon as I saw Kenny's post. It was an interesting conversation in which there was a lot of laughing in the background. He was misinformed about a couple of things i.e. production numbers of the 340/S. When I asked about pictures he seemed reluctant to answer my questions directly. I asked him to email me pictures and his response was something like " you email me and I'll respond tonight".. Tonight has come and gone and no pictures...... While this sled is relatively close to me I think I'll back off until I find out if it's for real. DA

You don't suppose this guy is the same one from OH that had the RXL for sale that everyone from the vintage site knew was a scam do you??

Has anyone seen photos of this sled? What are the "bids" based on?
For $1500+, it better be really nice.

I'm still not convinced it isn't a hoax. I got the same "$1500.00" email today that everyone else got. My email back to him was to inform him that "marketing" isn't his strong suit. Without seeing the sled I wouldn't offer him a dime, well ok, maybe a dime........At least in his email I could see everyone that was interested LOL. DA

Nothing more irritating than somebody that has something for sale and they want you to guess there price. I would not even think about this one as he is jerking everybody around. State your asking price and be done with it. Maybe he was looking to buy Rich,s off ebay and then sell to his imaginary high bidder????

When you guys first started this thread I was getting nervous. I was afraid the wife was trying to find mine a new home. Of course I realize that is not the case now because she would have listed it as "Free to a good home!"

I find it hard to believe the seller is really sincere about selling this sled or even if it exists. Anyone ligit, even if they did not own a camera, would have replied with some info regarding the sled. I agree that at $1500 it must be an 7 out of 10, have race history, additional parts sled, or a impressive cashe of spare parts that go with it.

Chuck, that's exactly the game he was playing with me. I asked him on at least three occasions during our short phone conversation "how much do you want" and his response was always, "how much will you pay". I knew the situation was going down hill from that point.

Rich, apparently you got a lot more info from him than I did. He didn't say one thing about the condition but then I didn't ask much other than for some pictures.

When he put the first post on I emailed him and asked for a asking price and some pics. He emails me back with four words: MAKE ME AN OFFER. I figured it was not worth dealing with and now I have got 3 emails to make an offer.

Maybe he's related to the guy in Wi. that had a 340/S hood for sale a few years back had one very poor picture of it & wouldn't take cash for it at the time of pickup, he wanted it paid for before Wade & I could pick it up..
I have seen one very good looking unrestored "raced" 340/S that I would pay more than that for But I do have pictures of it...
