Should I?

Post by gook6986 »

Hey guys, I was wondering what I should do because my dad is to lazy to put my engine back together. Should I take it to the local small engine shop to be put back together or just wait?

Here is my sled.

Haha I speak the truth. Story is I got this sled off of here bout 3-4 years ago back when we had the old site. Brought it home and the recoil broke so we ordered that and my dad decided to take the engine off and rebuild it never have gotten to it for bout 2-3 years. Getting kinda sick of it just sitting around if no use for it. I think I'm going to take my christmas money take the engine to a local small engine repair shop and have him put it together note that its taken apart and have brand new gasket kit for it.

I just get really fed up walking outside hearing sleds pounding the snow hard.

At this point....what would you be waiting for, and for how long?

I would suggest you learn how to do it yourself! The small engine shop may or may not be interested in something this old.

Good luck.

Put that thing together already!!!You'll never learn anything having someone else put your stuff together. Once you do one you'll all of a sudden want to do more!

Start things off by showing some effort and clean it up, maybe your dad will be moved to make some effort also.

I am going to disagree and say maybe you should find someone to do it, UNLESS you are able to buy a technical manual and all the necessary tools.

I'm with Steve, intiative is very important......so is commitment! You will have fun doing it especially if you can include that time with your father....Good Luck! Jon

I would be happy to assist. But I dont have a manual and I can bet you dont either. As for cost, this is something you need to consider prior to even starting this endeavor. Just to get the crank rebuilt if bad is over $175.00 and that doesnt include parts.
