Dual carbs on a Cyclone

Post by Greenxcracer76 »

I want to put dual carbs on my 76 440 Cyclone. Where do I start as far as jetting? Same as the Liquifire? How about clutching? Thanks.

Dual carbs on a Cyclone

Greenxcracer76,
Do you have everything that is necessary for the conversion:
dual carb manifold
dual carbs
dual fuel pump
dual carb airbox
twin throttle cable setup
twin choke cable setup
I would use the 440 liquifire carb specs as a starting point, found in the FAQ section.
The cyclone clutch will work, but the liquifire primary clutch has different weights in it, and a black spring. The liquifire clutch setup as a clutch engagement of 4100-4300 rpm, verses 3500-3700 rpm of the cyclone. The secondary is the same. The gear ratio is the same also.
'76 440 cyclone
'76 440 liquifire
'78 440 Cyclone
'75 JDX8 (sold to a member here)
'78 Liquifire(CrossCountry Clone)
'80 Liquifire(sold)
