Special Comments - My parents had two 76 300's when I was a kid and they were the first sleds I drove by myself at the age of 8(trip down memory lane). Buying this sled was a "hat trick" for me...I bought it from a guy 6 miles from my house(I have never bought a Deere this close to home), I bought it from the original owner's Grandson(great original shape), the original dealer was in my home town(found this out when I went to pick it up).

Special Comments: I just recently acquired this 300, having owned a new JD 400 similar to it shortly after the ice age ended. This sled should bring back some memories when I ride it. The seller claimed it just recently acquired it's third tankful of premix since new. The only things I've done to it were repainting the skiis and installing a new footwell gripper pad.

Purchased by my dad at a farm auction for $150 in July of 2008 near Upsula, Minnesota (central MN)

I am primarily a Ski Doo guy, and for that matter like older bogie sleds with the engine uncovered and in my lap, but dad emailed me the auction bill and there were a lot of old tractors and stuff on there- I saw the sled and told him to go 90 bucks on it if it was in good shape. He emailed back the next day to say I owned 60% of it and the seller said it ran good but "needed crank seals"

I found this board and JDT graciously offered to give it the once over for me, and in fact would pick it up as he was traveling the area from Milbank, SD.

I want to add I am a displaced MN guy living in the snowless south who travels north every two years or so when I can afford the time and money to spend a few days riding old iron that wasn't old when I was there 25 years ago.

Here it is- the windshield was pulled off to keep it from damage as it was hauled on the trailer. Otherwise a pretty clean original.
