loss of compression

Post by JDXsand00s »

i just was driving my spitfire around hard yesterday and put about 30 miles on it in some deep snow and apparently fried a piston. 120psi on the mag and 60 pto. put some snow on head for about 2 minutes and they were still hot, hottest i've ever had it. the sled already has 200 miles this year without a problem and i don't know if it was leaned out or overheated. is there also a chance that the head gasket blew? haven't pulled he engine yet to see the damage. working on 4 other sleds first.

I'm not sure where your at but it was 34 degree's here yesterday, with those free air motors that is too warm to run them hard.

it was about 30 degrees and i put 30 miles on before she blew, i was riding it as fast as i could bet it through a foot of snow and 3 foot drifts up a hiil, probably not the best for the smallest sled by deere.
