Air cleaner box(Do I need it?)

Post by outlawbulldog »

I am getting my sportfire running and took off the aircleaner box. The round screen tub is pretty rusty and do not want any of that crap getting sucked into the carb. Do I need this box and rubber hose attached to the carb or is there something else I can use?

yea you need this, i had a sled that would fire but not start, put the air box on and it ran and idled, that much change for me
Many new and used parts available, I ship anywhere. Thanks everyone.

the sled runs and idles fine without it, that is why I asked. The bolt that holds the mesh tube is rusted and will not come off. If I force it the tube will crumble. Is there a place to get a new tube?

Why not the obvious? Put intake screens on the carbs, then rejet to take advantage of the extra air?

Or am I missing something??
