There should be a unused plug right up by where the tach & or speedo goes that has thoughs color wires.

They still should hook up the same all snowmobile tachs ge an impulse from the lighting coil, most tachs Ive seen have at least a yellow wire (to the lighting coil & a blck or brown wire ( to ground)
one of his wires might be for the light,that need to go to lights the other to lighting coil, & the black & brown I would try grounding??
