Dator questions on Jetting

Post by JDXspec »

got some questions on Dator jetting.

I am having a low end bog I think that I need to change the cutaway on the slide. I have been tring pilot jets and am at 30s right now but it still has the bog. I read a fine tune manual (cyclone/LF, Trailfire)which states I may need to try a different cut away. Right now I have a 3.0 cutaway which was changed from a 2.5. what was the factory or recommended cutaway? Will 80+ Lf slides work? (Provided they are the right cutaway) All I am trying to do is get to drive decently with no hesitation.

2.5 is stock, and no the liquifire slides will not work because the idle screw is on the other side. are you sure that it is not a lean problem and not a rich problem?

Well the cutaway is wrong anyway.
When I hit the throttle the eng takes it time to speed up. The throttle does insrtant increase. It bogs for a short time then it speeds up. The eng will idle all day long.

As far as rich or lean I would say I am on the richer side right now. I don't like to have to work the throttle to get the eng rpms up. the mag side plug is richer then the pto.the PTO side will get a 35 or 40 pilot the mag will stay at 30. I have been using the air screws to figure out the if I need a different pilot but I think I am down to cutaway. Anyone have 2.5 throttle slides?
