deerecrazy82,
No, the primary will not work. They have different offsets. The secondary may work, but 83 spring could be different from the 77.

Agree with harley with the drive clutch. I also thing that the crank shaft size is different between the 2 engine types. On the secondary I don't think it will work too good. The ramp angle is different, even though the blue spring is the same, and the clutch part number itself is different. The helix angle will affect upshift and downshift, maybe not much, but you would be better off getting the correct clutches.

Hi Guys,

Harley, et al, are correct on the drive clutch. It will hit the frame before it seats, as the CCW/Kioritz 102-C is drilled deeper then the Kawi 102-C.

However, the driven clutch from a 76-78 440cc Liquifire is the same unit (and P/N) as the 80-81 Liquifire. So, if you can find a Kawi-motor 102-C from any Deere sled, (inc. Trail, Sport, and Sprintfire's), use B-1 wieghts and a silver or purple spring, you can use that with the 77 driven to replace the original TR-800/wide belt secondary your sled came with.

Or, you can replace the TR-800 with a Comet 108. One was built expressly for that appliction. Of course, you could always dig around for what parts you need for you original clutch set up.

Good Luck,

Joe, a little correction on the driven clutches.

Complete driven clutch:

76 LF Driven clutch #AM53990
77-78 LF 340 & Cross Country Driven #AM53990 (sub #AM54650)
77-78 LF 440 Driven #AM54266 (sub #AM54651)
80-81 LF Driven #AM54981
82-84 LF Driven #AM55353

The difference is the Helix and torque buttons:

76 & 77-78 340 and CC LF is #M66384 38? ramp
77-78 440 #M66938 44? ramp

80-81 #AM55070
82-84 #AM55357 44? ramp

Torque buttons:

76 #AM53842 (sub #AM54278)
77-78 #AM54278

80-81 #AM54894
82-84 #AM55326

The one half of each seave is also different numbers.

Not saying that the clutch won't work, but they are different, along with the part numbers. The Trail and Sportfires each have different clutch and part numbers. And yes, you can tell the difference between the two. The Sport's clutch is much snappier off the line, and this is a Sport sled with a Trail engine in it. The blue driven clutch spring is the same for both generations of sleds.
