What year polaris?

I am trying to figure out what year sled this is. It is a Polaris "Indy Sport Touring" the Id # on the side running board tag is 4XAST4DS7XCO84367 The engine number is EC443PM00254293 it is fan cooled, the engine serial number is 9902438 does anyone know what year this is? The date of manufacture on the side tunnel tag is worn off. A guy is selling it pretty cheap (semi basket case) but doesn't remember exactly what year it was. Isn't there some way you can tell by the sn # on the tunnel?

would 1999 sound correct?
Just a a guess based on the engine serial number.

As Todd suggested, it's more than likely a 1999. But look for a model number on the tunnel near the serial number. The 1999 Sport Touring was a model # 099ST4DS.
