I finally got the 80 LF running well, it still won't idle for long. I am now having a problem even getting it to run. It will pop, but that's about it. I retorqued my heads like the book said. How should my idle screws be set? My other question is how to seal the exhaust between the manifold and the pipe. It basically sprays oil (I am running injected and premix for break-in) at the block. Can I use exhaust pipe silocone, or do I have to find the right exhaust donut? If any of you Bemidji guys are free tonite after 10pm, give me a call (651)-587-5261.

set the air/fuel mix screws at 1.5 to 2 turns out. I would use some simple high temp silicone on the exhaust y-pipe that will work fine. Your LF should idle..why isnt it doing that? Did you haved your carbs gone through? You might have a leaky seal.

if you have oil in the gas plus the the oil injection on it is possible that you simply have it so rich that it loads up you should set carbs to specs and run it for awhile and see if it clears up. just make sure to keep checking your plugs so if it is another problem that you don't burn it down.

I completely rebuilt the carbs w/ new jets, seals, and gaskets. The main problem may be my idle set. When the sled was running last winter, it definatley wouldn't run well if the idle screws were'nt set identical.
