Brian,

My CC Liquifire did the same thing. Gotta be an electrical issue. Sounds like you guys had a good time!!

Another story from Image? Can't wait to hear. Paul and Troy, I'm willing to bet you came out of there with much lighter pockets. Never will I forget Rich's experience from a year ago at Image. Duane

I broke Ross's sled. Sorry Ross, but it is Kevin's fault for jinxing us.

Most likely the CDI as it just quit. Didn't seize up, but like I hit the kill swith. Luckily, we were about a half mile at most from the motel. But a mile back when we stopped at the HOF, Kevin says how much fun we had and that luckily no one ended up on the hook being pulled back. Well, wouldn't you know.

I will tell you guys what, that was the best weekend I have had in a long time. I met so many people that I can't even begin to tell all of the stories. Thursday night at Joe Wanie's was great. Joe, please tell your wife and family thank you for allowing us to come in and enjoy ourselves. You have a beautiful home. And all of the "guys" that came over from the area. Outstanding.

Friday afternoon, HOF, meet Jon Carlson. Holy Sh*&. I had to of pestered that guy with 100's of questions. Dinner with the NY boys, the Canuck, Brian, Paul, Troy, Jon C. and my Dad. ETD stories that made my cry laughing. Again compliments of #54.

Saturday, HOF day. The JD sleds made peoples heads turn. Photos being taken all over the place. It was so nice to see so many nice JD sleds.

More will pop up now and again, but I will stop with mine now.

But most thanks to Dad, you really put a great trip together. Thanks for letting a "kid", share in your younger days.

I am home, got home about 4pm or so and it was zero here at home also. The L-Fie was back up running by 11 am Saturday morning. Bob gave me a deal, an NOS throttle cable for $46.00. Not to shabby. Sled was up and running soon afterward. She ran good. Smoked a belt later in the day also. She ran better when the sun went down and the temp dropped. She didnt was to idle well all day, but like said, the sun went down and she was perfect!! Unloaded her off the trailer today and again, perfect. The weather had alot to do with it. She managed to run I bet close to 100 miles or so on some very rough trails averaging 35mph and some lake running at over 50mph with ease. I have pics but they will need developed and loaded up so stay tuned for pics later on this week. It was a great time. More stories to follow!! Troy is still on the road, poor guy.

I'm finally home. I rolled in at 9:15 tonight. Pretty beat. It was a great trip! I'll start by thanking Joe Wanie for hosting us at his place Thursday night. I'd also like to extend a huge thanks to all the John Deere guys for taking the time to come out to Joe's and visit with us. It was honor to get to meet you all! The photo's, proto type drawings, and stories were, well words just can't describe it. Thank you so much for all your hard work and dedication. It was a very memorable evening.

It was great to meet Joe, Kevin, Bob, Don, and Duane. All great guys!

Friday morning we had a surprise visitor at the Horicon Marsh. While out on the marsh Ed Kruel joined us and took our group photo. Thanks Ed for everything!

As if meeting some of the guys responsible for making it all happen Thursday night wasn't enough I had the honor of meeting Jon Carlson at the HOF during the C J Ramstead dedication. He also joined us later that evening for some very good conversation. Jon is a true class act! Thanks for reminicing the old days. It was truly a honor.

I had the pleasure of sitting beside Joe Rainville for dinner Friday night. I'm still not sure why people just give him sleds and all the good parts to boot. I hope you NY guys made it home safe. You had a long haul.

Two other guys I need mention are Eric and Blake. Two of the best guys you'll ever meet. They saved my trip from turning out a disaster by helping rescue the 500 and Eric letting me use his Trailfire LX. My first time on the "New Breed". Pretty impressive! Thanks guys.

I had a great time getting to hang out with Brian and Paul. It was a lot of fun. Especially jump starting vehicles this morning.

I would have to agree with all the other posts. It was great putting names to faces this past weekend. The trail conditions were very good and there was plenty of snow. On the way back to the motel on Saturday it got a little cold and bumpy but we all made it back in one piece.

Troy was a great guy. I was happy to let him use the Trailfire. I knew it was in good hands. I am glad someone got to put some miles on it..

:D

It was great visiting with Paul and Brian as well. Brian sure knows his sleds!!

In case anyone was wondering...someone stole Paul's speedo so my prayers were answered! HA

Also met up with Rainville on Sunday and made the parts pick up!

I know I am looking forward to next year already.

:D

Thanks to all for making it a great weekend!

I would also have to agree with everyone else in saying that the weekend was a complete success. It was great to finally meet some of the guys from this site and listen to their stories. Its amazing how much knowledge there is out there about these sleds and their history. Had a great time riding with Eric, Paul, and Troy on saturday as well as talking to Brain saturday night after our day of putting the selds through their paces. Aside from the couple breakdowns everyone had a great time and got home safe. I can only hope I will be able to make it next year.
