Finally for tonight I would like to post three of my favorite pictures, sorry but I'm in all of them. These are pictures of myself and my personal heros, guys that I raced against in the 70's. To say I raced against them is kind of silly though since I never even saw their snowdust. I was that far behind them. The first one is a picture of Jon Carlson and myself. What can I say....it was the highlight of my weekend to sit down and talk with Jon. He has to be one of the most intelligent men I have ever met! I'd hate to think how long we could have talked. Thank you Jon! Don
PS: He's the tall one LOL

My second hero is Stan Hayes. Stan could drive anything. I did tell him though how close I came to beating him in 73. If it were not for the 72 sleds between us, I would have won!

My last photo is of myself and Ray Monsrud. Definately a racer. While I had my issues with Polaris, I always admired this hard charger. Don

I couldn't make it to Joe's place on Thursday, But I was in Horicon first thing Friday morning after a quick 4 hrs. of sleep.

Conditions out on the marsh prevented the ride Joe wanted to take us on. They were blaming the DNR for that!

Here is a Photo of Ed Kruel. Ed drove into the parking lot while we were parked out in the slush, so Kevin Campbell was sent on his 600 to bring Ed out to us.
The JD plant is in the background.

This is a shot of Ed being taken back to his car. Several of the guys had problems getting going after sitting there.

Ed was very nice and checked out my 340S. He mentioned the one he had, and I said; "you still have the one you raced?" Ed said no, they had to go back to the dealer we got them from. Ed said his appeared at the plant and was sitting around, and he bought it cheap. He said that it turned out to Knuteson's practice sled ( ETD ) Once it was his, Ed said he promptly rebuilt it out of parts liberated from the plant parts bins.

Here is the Horicon Deere Riders all parked in front of Bosacki's. Pretty cool seeing that many Fire series sleds all lined up.

Me and my buddy Ross hit the trails just west of Horicon Thursday afternoon. The snow was great, especially the drifts along the fence rows.
