Liquifire Rev Limiter

Post by guitardude081 »

I rode the LF tonite, and I shut it down to install a hose clamp, and the hood, and when I was going to show off for my drunk barfly buddies, and the damn thing started bouncing off the rev limiter. I pulled the switch out, and the button moves freely, the contacts are clean, all of the connectins are still intact. I've spilled a lot of gas on it but I whiped everything down before I even put the airbox on, and it rode fine. I'm guessing it's something really basic and stupid that I'm missing, or there's a way to bypass the damn thing all together, so if anyone knows, let me know.

We alway disconnected the damn things, just make sure before you always start the motor that you check the throttle to make sure it's not open so when the engine starts the sled don't take off

Thanks Ken, that's what I wanted to know. I wasn't sure if it would run w/it unplugged. I'll try that, and then I can bring it out on the trail to test everything else.

The first thing I did on mine also when it was runnig bad was disconnect the plug on the rev limiter, other wise it idled like it was missing really bad, sputtering backfiring, cutting out.
