To clarify something - we are not talking about limiting this to race sleds are we? After thinking about it, I would plan to bring the Sportfire I'm about to rebuild. I doubt I'll have time to also rebuild the 295/S this year. Plus the Sporty would be much easier to ride fast.

Our primary goal should be a "reunion" of sorts with each of us deciding on the ride they want to participate in. Definately should not be limited to "race" sleds. DA

Hi Matt, and guys,
The idea we are working with is to get as many CC racers together as we can, but certainly not limiting the "Vintage Challange" to them. Any Deere is of course welcome! The front motor sleds would deffinately be easier to ride fast, especially a rubber tracked Liquifire or Sporty. I think a mid-motor might be a handfull in the twisty sections, but if those guys could ride a 295 in the I-500, I am sure it could hang in there for this fun ride.
We do want to pay tribute to ETD, ICCSF Racers and Independants as a theme, but be inclusive of the rest of the Deere line up and other vintage sleds. Larry Preston at vintagesleds.com is trying to get some Polaris TX's to join the Challange ride, while Jon posted about getting some of the Cross Country Racing legends together.
I hope we get a good turn out of all kinds of CC sleds, but I hope us Deere guys make the strongest showing!

PS: That "Dam fake Rabbit Oil" story was darn funny!
PPSS: Matt, pop some new crank seals in your 295/s and bring it along too. We are hoping for a nice 'shake down' run Friday in St. Germain...
