295s Suspension

Post by mgabl072 »

Is the bogie suspension put on 1973 JDX8 the same bogie suspension that was put on 74 295s? I know 295s with bogie suspensions are rare, but I have a 73 JDX8 bogie suspension and I was wonder if they might have been the same?

The biggest difference that comes to mind is the bogies.
Your '73 X8 should have steel centers, a 295S would have aluminum.

I have an X8 restored bogie suspension. I am now working on a 295 s so I was thinking I could maybe put the X8 suspension in the 295s, only if it fits and the holes line up. No retro fitting here.

The Bogie Slider using the all rubber Poly track is the rare 295/S suspension if your X8 has a bogie slider in it ?? are you sure it isn't a bogie slider from a 295/S as I don't think anything else used/came out with that type of suspension??
Brian, I don't think there ever was any aluminum centered bogie's until the Dators came out???? unless the factory teams had some, but I doubt they did as Deere would have had to have them in the parts system.. I've never saw any..

295s Suspension

The JDX8 just has the straight boogie suspension that was put in on the early serial #, manufactured late 1973 the way I understand it.

The 295s has a straight old slide suspension.

I was thinking of switching the 2 because the boogie suspension I believe tends to ride a little better for cross country.

I would dearly love to come across a boogie/slide suspension for a 295s. If anyone knows of any I would gladly pay for it.

I still laugh everytime you talk about bogies.
