Do Anti-War Protesters have reunions? If so what do they TALK about?

Peter,
The original Prestolite CDI units were prone to failure. It's my understanding that it was such a problem that the race teams installed a second CDI so if during the race one crapped out they had a back up and could continue the race.
I'm not sure what causes the failure? Heat? Vibration?
The Original CDI is tucked on the inside of the frame close to engine recoil. The expansion chamber of the exhaust is near as well. If the units are mounted back to back it puts the outer unit very close to the expansion chamber.
The CDI box is I think a "A" style? The connections are different from other Deere sleds except the 295/S. They are hard to find. To retrofit to a Hewtech you would have to splice into the harness. I would prefer to keep the wiring and CDI original unless there are no other options.
If heat is what causes the failures in these boxes then some added air flow to them sure wouldn't hurt.

Peter, Troy of course is correct. Redundancy was pretty important in cross country racing. You had to carry your own parts, tools, etc for the race course. At night we were given 2 or 3 hours to work on the sleds. Don
