Rainville Haydays trip
Joe, Cari, Nick, and Jenette were here today to drop off some parts.
First photo: we have a new re-pop hood sitting on the sled, and Rainville is making two stroke noises. Jenette commented that Nick looked like he was having WAY too much fun.
Second photo: The crew just before they headed north after lunch.

Hi Brian,
I would like to thank you and Katti (sp) for the hospitality. The home cooked lunch was just what we needed. The pie's were excellent and much appriciated too, especially the chocolate creme!
Nice to see the progress on your 340/s'. Keep at em, I think we are going to have the largest gathering of 340/s Deere's since the start of the 75 I-500 at the Vintage Challege in Feb.
Thanks again for having us stay for lunch!
-Joe and Cari Deerest
PS: Not sure if "stunning" was the work Cari used

Hey Kenny Waters(boy). You should have seen the look on Cari's face when Bob and I whipped out our cowboy boot glasses from the wedding and started to drink beer from them in the restaurant. It was precious. I'll post a dinner photo soon. DA

Got a couple of pictures from Saturday nights dinner at the world famous....Cornerstone Cafe in Wyoming, Minnesota. It's become the "official Saturday night eatery of the John Deere group". This years group was 11 strong including myself, Bob, Cari Deerest, Joe, Ramon, Rich, Chuck, Nick and Jeanette, Jack (Guitardude) Durand and his buddy. I'm not going to discuss the waiter.......................that's been done on the other threads................LOL.

I like the Rabbit decal as a center piece.....
Why is everyone smiling except Rainville?? Was he trying to be a hard ass or didn't anybody recognize him as JD Joe Rainville at the restaurant so he was disappointed ??

She did pretty good on short notice. The pies were made the day before, and the pork roast had been in the slow cooker since she left for work. The sweet corn was purchased on the way home from work. She got some potatos peeled and boiled, some pork and beans on ( great choice for a road trip don't you think? ) gravy made, and water melon sliced up. She got all this done in 20 or so min.
It's great that Joe and Nick had the girls with them, as the wife got to see proof that you guys are real people with real lives, not just some weird dudes who hang out on the computer. We enjoyed the NY crew's visit.

It was fun to meet up with you guys, next year I'm going to have to bring the new wife (ex girlfriend). Thanks for the terminology rainville, she enjoys it. Hey chuck was the waiter behind you in the first picture? You look awfull happy!! Anyway it was fun to meet Don, Bob, Nick, Jack, and catch back up with Rich, Rainville, and Chuck. Did anybody else notice how Joe and Rich were finishing each others sentences? Creepy.........It was also fun in the beer tent at Haydays, I think some of the other people in the tent got an education on John Deere's racing legacy whether they wanted to or not.
Have a good one, hope to possibly see you at Douglas.

Hey Guys,
Dinner was deffinately a great time. The food was great, Chuck buying pitchers and entertaining the girls, Rich kept the facts straight, Don and Bob made us all laugh with a roast, errr... toast to Cari and my wedding that he crashed. Pulling out the boot mugs was just too funny! Nice to meet Jack and Nate and B.S.ed a lot with Ramon about collecting "junk" treasures.
Cari and Jennet got more proof that there are other guys as hung up on vintage Deere sleds as Nick and I are. I think it makes us look more "normal" to them...well maybe.
Of course I can finish Rich's sentances, I program him in the late 80's to remember all the great Deere sled info. Remember I wrote R.I.C.H. (Rainville Integrated Carbon Hybred) before Al Gore invented the internet.
As for the waiter, I really don't think he noticed the pretty girls at the table...but I am also sure he has no idea who I was either...yikes... but how did he know Bob's cell#?
Way Later, Liquidator!
